Vendor: Mondillo

Available

A concentrated wine, perfectly balanced, with a lingering palate of ripe peaches, honey and a hint of mango. Enjoy – Salute!

Nina contains 100% Riesling fruit, and is only produced in years that natural botrytis occurs. Each grape cluster is carefully chosen and picked by hand to ensure that the best botrytis berries are selected. Our 2022 vintage contains 60% botrytis affected fruit.

We were fortunate this year in Central Otago, as the 2022 growing season was simply fantastic. Warm temperatures throughout the summer, followed by a hot, dry Autumn gave us perfect conditions for the ripening season. It was a long wait until the botrytis set in and the Nina fruit was hand-picked on the 13 May 2022. Only a small amount of this wine is available. Bottle Size: 375ml

Alc: 10%, RS: 138 g/l, TA: 6.5, pH: 3.23

Our ‘Nina’ Late Harvest Riesling is named in tribute to Domenic’s late mother Giovanina - a wonderfully sweet Italian lady; affectionately referred to as ‘Nina’.

Drink/Cellar: Now until 2029

Serve chilled with soft cheeses, dessert, as an aperitif or as dessert!

Barcode Graphic 375ml: Vineyard Rosemary

95/100 Points, Cameron Douglas MS
"A totally delicious wine with aromas and flavours of sweet limes and white peaches, there’s honeyed fruit and honeysuckle and a mineral quality. Sweet, silk-cream texture with a core of ripe, citrus and stone fruit flavours, some apple and honeyed fruits. Contrasting acidity delivers backbone as well as carrying and depositing all the attributes through the palate. Excellent with roasted salmon as much as it is with cheeses and dessert. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030. Outstanding"

95/100 Points, Bob Campbell MW
"Rich, luscious wine with ripe Golden Queen peach, bush honey, mango and white flowers supported by a backbone of juicy acidity. Absolutely delicious wine that makes a great aperitif or partner with blue cheese. At its best: 2023–2029"

95/100 Points, Wine Orbit, Sam Kim
"Bright and fabulously perfumed, the bouquet shows lemon curd, lime zest, subtle honey and rich floral aromas, followed by a vibrant palate offering attractive sweetness backed by racy acidity, finishing persistent and refreshing. At its best: now to 2030"

Five Stars, Michael Cooper ONZM
"A lovely late harvest style, the 2022 vintage was estate-grown at Bendigo and hand-picked when 60 per cent of the grapes were infected with ‘noble rot’.  Bright, light yellow/green, it is richly scented, with gently honeyed aromas and flavours. Finely poised and youthful, it has concentrated, vigorous, citrusy, peachy flavours, showing excellent delicacy and depth, abundant sweetness (138 grams/litre of residual sugar), fresh acidity and a lasting finish.   Likely to be at its best from 2025 onwards, it’s already a delicious mouthful."
