The 2021 Bendigo growing season started with a cool spring, followed by perfect weather from February through to mid-April. Warm and dry conditions during this time gave us delicious tasting fruit and a wonderful grape harvest. Estate Grown; a combination of clones 5 and 777, each fermented individually. The fruit was 100% de-stemmed followed by a long cold maceration, fermented slowly, gently pressed and put to barrel. The wine has been filtered and is unfined. Aged in French oak barriques for 17 months.

"The classy, concentrated 2021 vintage is a rare red – only 800 bottles were made.  Estate-grown and hand-picked at Bendigo, it was matured for 17 months in French oak barriques and bottled without fining.  Deep, bright ruby, it is invitingly perfumed and full-bodied, with a strong surge of plummy, spicy, nutty flavours, very ripe, savoury and harmonious.  Showing lovely delicacy and suppleness, it’s a very youthful red, well worth cellaring to 2026+."

Firm velvet textured tannins and medium+ acid line, plenty of wood and accompanying spice and wood smoke layers. Dry, lengthy and complex. Best drinking from 2027 through 2037+. Outstanding"
