Mondillo Pinot Noir 2018

$48.00
Vendor: Mondillo

Available

Aromas of dark cherries, blackberries, plums, a hint of oak with a balanced, smooth velvety richness. Enjoy - Salute.

The 2018 Bendigo growing season was the warmest on record, with early bud burst, a dry summer and wonderful concentration in the fruit. This vintage shows excellent cellaring potential.

The fruit was hand harvested mid-March, 100% de-stemmed followed by a long cold maceration, fermented slowly and gently pressed. It has been aged in French oak barriques, of which 30% were new for 10 months.

Drink/Cellar: Now until 2028

Serve with beef, stuffed eggplant, rich tomato/mushroom based recipes, pork and lamb dishes.

Barcode Graphic 750ml: In the wine tank…

Cameron Douglas, Excellent 94/100 Points
Youthful, varietal and precise bouquet with ripe aromas of dark cherry, black currant and plus with an unmistakable scent of Bendigo suggesting dried herbs, violet and rugged outcrops. The aromas of barrel spice and smoky wood add complexity and depth….the palate has a core of fruit with a savoury spicy edge…. charm and elegance with lots of potential to age. This is a lovely wine with concentration and length. Best drinking from 2022 through 2028.
